RMB named Best Trade Financier Africa in the Trade Finance Global Awards

RMB has won in the Best Trade Financier in Africa category for the Trade Finance Global International Trade Awards 2022. The awards are held in cooperation with BAFT, the leading international transaction banking association and represent excellence in both the intermediary (B2B) and direct (B2C) markets.

Louis du Plessis, Head of Trade Finance at RMB said: “We are proud to receive this respected industry award. We believe that it is a result of us putting our clients first, coupled with our capabilities and expertise, that RMB is regarded as one of the leading trade finance providers in Africa.”

RMB has also purposefully driven innovation, rolling out advanced client-facing and internal processes to streamline how clients engage with the bank. As a result, the bank has seen a significant uptake of our state-of-the-art trade finance platform.

We have also proven our relevance within Supply Chain Finance, particularly in the wake of the global pandemic and crisis in Ukraine, where we have seen that the impacts of a disrupted supply chain cannot be overstated. RMB is able to assist businesses in this regard, using Supply Chain Finance as a tool to ensure sustainability of supply by providing support to suppliers within the value chain.

Du Plessis concluded: “At RMB we are passionate about solving problems for our clients. We challenge accepted thinking. We analyse and seek solutions beyond the obvious. We ensure that innovation is allowed to flourish in the context of traditional values and social responsibility. That’s what solutionist thinking is all about.”
